The project shows distribution of wetlands (lakes, rivers, mires, fens, solonchaks) 

and their relation with forest cover, quarternary deposits, major cropland areas. 

Also the project contains data on existing and planned dams and water transfers.

    The Map is completed in 2007 year. Used data sources date from 2000 to 2007. After final demarkation of 

China-Russia border in 2009 national boundaries need update.
